max amps is the best place I have found. They have killer prices and I have run the crap out of my 8000's in my 1/8 buggies and they have held up better than my thunderpower's. Here is the link

I have 2 packs of Electric Power 8C batteries sold on http://www.xushobby.com . They hold up well to high amp spikes, and I got a 4s 6600mah 8C pack for only $100!
I've also just order 2 Makita LXT power tool battery packs. They use these new Li-Ion cells that are have a higher power and energy density than NiMh, but are cylindrical cells so they are tough. They can also be charged at 3C!

some US sellers can't ship lipos overseas because their flammability.
china, japan, taiwan, singapore, ..... , can ship every item.
then you have to look at shipping cost and how long it takes to arrive.
just ordered a 3s 15c from himodel.

I'm running the Emoli cells with good results. They are real tough 15C cells good for about 155W each. Curious to see how the Makita packs compare.

I would think that they are the same cells. Are they not?

No....Makita uses the Konion type cells in a 5S2P configuration supposedly only good for about 7C discharge.

Really?!?! I just bought 2 Makita packs thinking that they were the same Emoli cells as the V28 packs.

Ya'll got any links to these interesting little cells? I'm specifically looking at you Jamie....:D
Edit- nevermind, found stuff on them. Anyone hear about these A123 cells? 5 minute charge and up to 100C instant discharge rates?

Yea, those a123 cells are everyone's wet dream, but as of yet they are still vapourware. Kind of irritating - Though I understand that the DeWalt tools using them were on display in January at a contractors convention somewhere. There is hope, but I doubt they will be as cheap as these things are :D
tcoleson - As far as I've been able to find (You pointed me in the right diretion, I took off with it :D), Milwaukee V28 are the only place that the emoli 3000 li-ions are being used, and thats also the only place to get them (breaking open the packs for Milwaukee tools)

Yes, the V28 packs are the only source of those cells. Fortunately, the Ebay seller gave me a refund minus the $10 Ebay fees. So, now I can spend it on another Lipo pack or a V28 pack and buy a cell from somebody. It's too bad that the V28 packs are 7s, since you can't make a 3s2p without wasting extra money on an extra cell, and you can't make a 4s2p (like what I want to do) without buying another pack or a spare cell from somebody.

Poke around on forums enough and you'll probably find someone willing to part with an individual cell.
If not, well... Make a 3s2p now, and expand it when you have the fun-funds to buy a (few?) more V28s, expand it :p
That's roughly what I plan to do for my stuff. I've been planning/working on a 1/8th truggy conversion for a bit now, and my biggest worry was the weight of NiMH vs the durability (and, omg, cost) of LiPo - These seem to be an excelent compromise, and if it works well with the first batch, I'll just get more cells and expand it to my other RC stuff, if I'm satisfied with my runtime vs chargetime on what I've already made for my 1/8th :D If I'm not entirely happy with it, I can always use the 2 spare cells for a 2s1p for a smaller vehicle, or just as backups incase I get a cell going bad early. Never hurts to have backups!

TrueRC has some really good deals on some 8000mah (4000mah cells in 2p) for 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s packs. These cells are newer, compared to the old ones that could only do 4C continuous. Check it out:
