hey guys what are your suggestions on a pro4?
I want it to perform well on either 6 cell 3700's and 3900's and 2s/3s lipo's i've heard mgm + lehner 5300 but what are your suggestions?

A 5300 on 3s lipo is starting to push it. Firstly, are you racing or just bashing? If you're racing, the 4200 or 5300 on 6 cells would probably be just fine (and the 4200 can handle the 3s lipo probably better than the 5300). If you want more speed, the GTB 5.5 or GTB 4.5 are the way to go, but you won't be able to run 3s lipo on them, nor 7 cells (unless you get a sphere ESC, but 7 cells on a 4.5R is probably mad!).
There's also the 380C 6 turn motor, which should be plenty fast on 6 cells, or maybe a 9 turn (probably still plenty of speed and power on 6 good cells) so that you can use that 3s lipo. As for ESC, I'd have to reccommend the Mtroniks Pro since everyone posts such good stuff about them, and their customer service is supposed to be good too.
I wouldn't go with the MGM controllers (especially if you're racing), simply because their braking is funky and odd, and if you ever need to send it in for servicing, you mine as well shoot yourself in the foot. If you can adapt to the odd brakes, then maybe it might be a good alternative, but really, the Mtroniks Pro is probably much smoother and better.

well not really racing it..more like some track time but nothing serious...if i did race at the local track i'd throw in a normal mod setup cause i have other esc watin around
If you plan to run 3S lipo's. I would go w/ a hacker 9t or equivalent motor. I run this motor w/ a Schultz UForce 75 (soon to be replaced w/ the Quark) and the car runs super fast but not uncontrollable. I would say straight away speeds are up there w/ the tuned(modded) nitro sedans or faster and MUCH faster in the infield. Very fun to drive. I am personally waiting on a 8000 3s lipo pack from Maxamps to have longer run times. I run w/ polyquest 4400 3s pack right now and get about 20 min runtime w/ the above speeds mentioned.....love it!!!!!!!!!!

a lower turn can't handle the power correctly huh? cause i was lookin at a quark 80b and like a hacker 7t or a lehner 1920 5t

They heat up faster (rev out of their efficiency range) and the chances of the rotor grenading/slipping/getting messed up become higher (plus amperage draw increases if you up the voltage and don't change to a higher turn motor I believe). Just remember this, everything will work, but how long it lasts is the real thing to consider. A lehner 1515 4 turn on 3s lipo will work, but how long will it last (random example I pulled out of the sky) in comparison to that 1515 4turn on 4 cells?;)
really, for that I think buy two motors, one for the 3s and one for the 6cell. There you might consider the Faegao 380 motors as they are relatively cheap and perform decent. Maybe a 9 or 10t and a 6t.

I'd agree with Havy here. If you were going to get a single hacker, then you'd be limited, but if you get two feigaos, that should be about the cost of a hacker (last time I checked hacker C40s are what, 140 bucks? I forgot). So two feigaos will be about 130-140 bucks, and then you can have a fast 6 cell motor, or a good 3s lipo motor.:D What an expensive hobby we're in!

ok well say i run only the 2s and 3s batts whats good motor from feigao? how about a 7t or something?
The biggest prob is tolerating the increased voltage from whatever motor. If you plan on 3s packs. Then I think you should go for a motor that will hold the upper limit on voltage, prob a 9t. The max RPM limit you want to get to should be approx 50000-60000 RPM. Take the KV of the motor and multiply it by the battery voltage. This will give you an idea of the Max RPM the motor will hit w/ the intended battery (3s is your upper limit 11.2v). If it falls in the range above, then it should be OK.

oh i think i get it now...i think i'll be running the 9t or something i dunno with a quark 80b system

In that case..... I'd say a 380C 8 or 9 turn. Probablly 9. That should be good on 2s lipo, and even more fun n 3s lipo.

what about the 1920 motor do you know if those are any good cause that's the motor i was planning on getting in a higher wind...

I got the quark 80b but looking for the 1920 in a 6t now...i can't get from finedesign cause i don't have a credit card anywhere else? i checked starluck and rc monster they don't have it either

Email RC-Monster about getting one. He can special order those motors.

Just a note, I think the 19 series motors use a 4mm shaft, but maybe you can order one with a 3.17mm (1/8") shaft instead though.

yeah finedesign has em listed with 4mm so i might have to have some custom pinons made

I think mike has some 4mm pinions. Or...you can get them from.....::gasp:: Chris Fine if you need them. Jamie or Mike can probably hook you up though.

i was prolly gonna go through mike...but i'll see if he can even get the motor first
