I have a a couple boats one has the .15 aquacraft inboard and the other is the K&B 7.5 outboard

I would like to try some higher nitro in my 7.5 outboard.
I have some 25% nitro fuel made by Byron(byron competition) with total oil content of 16% which is 70% synthetic and 30% castor.

Based on the rcommendations on these forums to run a minumun of 18-20% oil content I would like to add some oil to the fuel to increase the overall oil content thus some added protection for my motor.

Would these be a reasonable thing to do.Take a small portionto start, maybe the equevelent of two tanks 24 oz and calculate

How much oil I would need to increase the oil content to 18-20% and add the calculated amout of Bakers Castor Oil(that is the only oil I have).

Thoughts and opinions please.

after a little bit of cyphering and mathematical thinking and stuff like that, i've come to this conclusion. to raise your oil percentage from 16points to 18 points would take 3oz (give or take) of oil per gallon. this is rough math, i'm sure there's someone out there who can tell you down to the .00001 oz of what you need to add, but IMHO those guys take it way too seriously. here's where my math comes from:

1 gal = 128oz
1% of 128oz = 1.28 oz
to raise by 2%...takes between 2.5-3oz of oil.

since we can all see where i'm coming from, anyone who can provide a better explanation is more than welcome. this is how i do mine, and i hope i'm not ruining my precious OB engines!!!!!!

If you wanted to increase just 24oz of your 16% fuel to 18% the formula is:
.16(24)+X=.18(24+X) This works out to .6oz of extra oil. To increase 24oz from 16% to 20% you would need 1.2oz of extra oil. RC
