Okay, I have made up my mine to go with the 12s and it is on it's way. That is for 12 cell running.

I am still undecided for 6 and 7 cell running.

Some have suggested 540 6s, 380c 6l and others.

My goal is to run about the same speed or faster than my gtb 5.5 with 6 cellls. I want something that isn't going to be smoking hot or kill my batteries. I am running it in my Traxxas Rustler with racing tires. I sometimes run M2K's. I am running the MGM 8012.

We talked about it in the other thread, but I don't want to continue to hijack Cart's thread.

Thanks in advance.

The 380c 6t has been tested to be about the same speed as the 5.5, maybe slightly faster and I hated my 540 6s. Very sluggish and it put my gp3300s into their misery. The 380c 6l is another option, but for your application, I would still prefer the 380c 6t if I were you. There really shouldn't be much of a difference between power outputs of each. The 6t may have slightly more power, but it may heat up by that much more also. The only cons w/ the 6l are that it's slightly heavier than the 6t and it may stick out too far, though it would work the best with M2k tires.

Nobody seems to have the 6t in stock. And why is there differnt specs on the 7t between rc-monster and starluck?

Mike may not have updated kv. There was a slight change now that Feigao has done more testing. No difference in the motors.

It's in stock. I just checked rc-monster's site.

@SpEEdyBL

I have the 380C6L, but never try it yet.
I afraid it would draw to much Amps and burn my controller.
The Controller is an GM Genius 80(160A burst).
What do you think?
The car is an home made 4WD Truck, weighs about 4.5 lbs.

If you select it and add it to you basket it says it is out of stock.

Should be fine IMO. If in doubt, start at more conservative gearing. :)

Alright, I'll start with 15:1 and thanks a lot.

I don't think you should be worried at all with an 80 amp controller.
