Greetings..

I have had my Savage SS for about 2 years, in that time it has gone through some major customisation. Here are a few pics.

(Completed Initial Build - Minor Upgrades: Electronics Dept.)

More pics to come. :)

The pic you see here is of 2 Savages. My customised original Savage SS is in the foreground and my "run-around" stock Savage is in the background.
The picture shows the cars in my workshop during "parts" conversion.

Looks tops!!!

It's also great to see plenty of Aussies on this forum ;)

I'm from WA and I love bashing my cars on a regular basis. We all should meet up one day and have a bashing sesh.

Looks awesome! The organizers of the racetrack near me outlaw the CVEC pipe because I guess it gives an unfair advantage or something. Must make some real powa!

The fact that I can adjust the amount of backpressure in the pipe, ( up to 8 settings ), means that I can really tune the engine for peak performance depending on the type of driving I intend on doing.

Not only that, at accelleration, mild or hard, The pipe emits a metallic resonating sound due to the adjustable backpressure piston in the pipe itself...the sound similar to a 5.0 litre V8 hard on the gas...only smaller!. ....if you know what I mean.

Pic below shows backpressure tuning cylinder inside the pipe.

Thanks for your comments guys.

The picture here shows my Savage SS prior to an engine, gearbox, servos and suspension assembly upgrade which has been done since this picture was taken. :)

Hey DarkSavage, ...that pipe has heaps of tunability!.. I still haven't settled on a specific setting as I have installed an OS 30VG in the Savage since the pic above was taken, and am still running the engine in.

As far as the "green box" is concerned, that is a Venom VSM Smart/Temp and Failsafe. Apart from being a failsafe, amongst other things, it monitors your engine temp, and when the temp exceeds a user set point, it reduces the amount of throttle servo travel from maximum throw, this can be set as well.

I originally installed it on my Savage because the previous engine I had in it, the S-25, had a tendancy to get too hot during hard running. The heat issue became more apparent after I completed a total engine porting modification ( ...courtesy of an online article about porting the S-25 engine...). The engine however did have quite a noticeable increase in power after the mod.

The new engine, the OS 30VG does not suffer from any overheating problems whatsoever, at this stage.

i know but it looks like u have 2 oh them why is that. I dont know if one of them is the failsafe and the other is the temp. But they do make one that has them all built into one.

Hey chris, the "green box" on the top of the reciever cover is a Venom Speed Meter. Mounted on the right side of the reciever cover (shown in pic), is the Venom VSM Smart/Temp and Failsafe, the other "green box".

oh ok. Thought u were running 2 of the same smart/temp and failsafe's.
