Transponders????

I see that my local track is requiring transponders :eek: ....I seen AMB has one and Orion has the Black Edition....Are there any others that in your opinion are better than the others???? any info would be great! Thanks!

just go with whichever your track is using and that'll be your safest bet

AMB is going to be the most prevalent transponder out there
and has served me well over the years,life at the track is so much easier
with your own transponder,go with amb...

Unless its something new, the Orion system is a stand alone system and will only read one/your car. Its only designed to read one car. It is not compatable with the AMB system. More than likely your track has an AMBrc system and you will need a personal transponder NOT a house transponder. Check with your track and make sure what they have.

Thanks for all of your guys' replies! I am going to the races tomorrow(to watch, unfortunately)-i had to order a buncha parts for my car, but i will see what they all use and get the best one! Thanks again!

Usually any track that has any sort of lap timing equipment will USUALLY be using AMB software. If they are using that, the possibility is also very high that they have the standard handout transponders as well. Although it is expensive( anywhere from 85-100$) to get an AMB personal transponder, 99.99% of the time that is the way to go.
