Savage X NOOB Recommendations

Hey there all. I am a NOOB to this site as well as NITRO. My wife bought me a savage x for a birthday present and I was wondering if there is anything that you all suggest to do to the truck before starting it up...Necessary hop ups etc... I know some about electric rc. I read the posts regarding the comparisons and I know that my wife got the right car. Thanks for your help. :)

make sure the spur gear/clutch bell gap is set right, and put fill diffs with diff oil instead of grease so the rear diff won't break as early.

I have a Savage Limited 3 speed and right out of the box I didnt have to do anything to it prior to running it. BUT I would suggest buying a bottle of lock tite and while the truck is still clean/dry, remove each screw one by one and put thread lock on them (take one out, put lock tite on that screw and then replace it and move to the next one etc.). Trust me you will be happy you did. The vibration from the engine loosens the screws over time. Trust me, its the worst to be out with your friends driving your cars/trucks and have your truck stop moving because a screw fell out. Also you will need a few things if you dont already have them. Temp gun, fuel bottle, glow plug ignitor, fuel, after run oil or WD-40(after run for long storage). I think thats about it for a starter kit. Im probably forgeting something but I hope that helps.
