I recently converted my Slo Stick to a brushless set-up using an ElectriFly Silver Series speed controller. My Tx is an Airtronics (new type) and Rx is Hitec, both worked well with brushed set-up, and now they don't with new brushless ESC. I asked ElectriFly and they said to reverse my Tx throttle setting, which does work but who wants to fly with an upside down throttle control. One of their techs told me to switch the two wires to the Rx which I did and smoked two new servos. When I asked about that they simply sent me two new servos and said their ESC is designed only for the Futaba Rxs. Does anybody know much about this problem and what ESC will work with my Airtronics?

Your transmitter should have a reversing switch or if it is a computer radio, it should be one of the programing options. As you found out, you should not switch the wires from the ESC to the receiver, that only works on the wires from the ESC to the motor.

You never said if the throttle works when up at full. If it did then just use the reversing switch on the transmitter to change the direction of the throttle, like Ryan said. If that didn’t work, try moving the throttle lever all the way down, including the trim tab, and see if the ESC will arm. If not, move it all the way up, along with the throttle trim tab, if the ESC arms, use the reversing switch (on the TX) to change the direction of the throttle.
If you are still having problems, send the ESC back and get a Castle or Jeti ESC, both work well with Airtronics.
