This is for racers to post their views on what they might think is cheating, more so for new racers who are unsure about the advantage skill racer might have. Ask your question about set-ups, motors, batteries, radios, ESC, tires, driving skills (like on and off the trigger.) Try and get the help here that you are not getting at you track. Normally the person that is winning is not going to tell all. This is not an arguement forum just good ole fashion information.
Look at it like Tech support. :D

yeah the forum ghost seems to be hungry lately. and I agree it does seem to be in the wrong section but either way...

I think one of the biggest ppl have that are new starting out is that they don't moderate the throttle or steering enough. they usually seem to be either full throttle full brake or full left or full right. I will admit I drove like this when I started out and I wasn't doing very good. When I finaly got to where I could moderate all these things and I was tons better. Just remember just because you are full throttle doesn't mean you are gonna go faster around the track.

Hmmm,,, what is cheating?? Doing anything that is not allowed by the rules. Concealling that fact would be the secret and the skill comes into play as to how long you can keep fooling everyone that your not doing anything "shady". Do people do this in R/C car racing? Unfortunatly, yes. But I am pretty sure it doesn't happen as often as some would think. Does skill and practice and setups help? Dam straight. 2 years ago I could beat Justin L pretty much at will and now I couldn't catch him if I were using rockets in my car. Is he driving better? Yes. Is he setting up his car better? Yes. Does Anthony whoop me too? Yes. Are they cheating? Well, even though there isn't a regular teck inspection at Rosewood, with the level of competition that these guys are driving, they'd lose a lot more than a race if they were caught cheating, so why would they risk doing it? They can setup the car, drive way better than most, and they and other drivers just plain take the time to practice. They take the motors out and give them to others and they still outrun a lot of drivers. Give someone their main battery pack, use there practice one and still they go fast.

The best advice to anyone reading this is to take the time to practice. Driving, working on the setup, maintainance, everything. Winning will never come overnight. It takes a lot of time. Some more than others. Me? I think they're all cheating,,,, LOLOL

If there are no rules, it isn't cheating. It's up to the track to establish what is a "rule." To be underweight, you must specify what is legal weight. To not run the correct motor combination must take someone telling you what is incorrect.

Fortunatly for us, there is an organization that does all this for us, it's just that some places choose not to pay attention to it, and just go "outlaw" style.

i think if a track doesn't have "rules" as to wheather you can put this or that on your car/truck to make it faster or lighter, then, they just want people to come out and have a good time. or they just don't feel like making any. lol. but for being fast?: practice, practice, practice. do you think guys are winning (in big or rc cars) because they stand in it and then jam on the brakes? no, they get seat time and beciome smooth
