Hello, so as you can tell I am having two electric motors.
The motors are the Graupner 480BB Race which are at http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/forsale_motors.htm
and I am thinking of getting one Victory 10-32 cell 90 Amp Watercooled at http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/forsale_esc.htm
Will one esc be enough or is something likely to blow? I am thinking of using 14-16 cells. not sure what voltage yet, I haven't looked that far into it.
One person suggested to me that I should get two esc's but cant picture how that would work in the boat.
Any thoughts/ suggestions?
Thank you

What type of boat will the motors be used in? The little 480s are not suitable for use in larger boats, particularly at high cell counts, due to their inability to withstand much heat. They are popular in micro monos and cats. Are you planning to run them geared together, or with each one driving one prop?
Are you planning on running the motors in series or in parallel? If the latter, the motors will likely grenade as they will see about twice the voltage they were designed for....it won't be pretty. If in series the voltage will be fine, but the amp draw may be high depending on the prop and boat size/setup.
One ESC will work fine for both motors, be they wired in series or in parallel. The Victory should be fine, your motors will give up before it will. Two ESCs would work fine using a Y-harness, but there is no advantage to this unless you had chosen inadequate ESCs to begin with. That is not the case since you chose the Victory.

Thanks for the input. To answer your questions its a boat that I made out of Balsa wood. completly made from scratch. here are some pics of it. keep in mind that the body isn't even close to being finished:

about 20 inches long. doesn't weigh much although im sure that will change when everything is in it.
I will be running one prop for each motor, and most likely in series although I may switch to a larger size motor and run in parallel.
Should I stay with the small motors or switch to larger ones?

A 20" mono would be considered almost a micro, and due to its small size alnd light weight (and planing design) it should work fine with twin 480 motors. It looks pretty cool! :D

Thanks for the vote of confidence. it wont be finished any time soon though. Thanks to me moving to a different time zone for a new job. When I do finally finish the boat I will post all of the pics that I have taken so far plus the ones that I plan on taking in the next few months.
