Im moving to chicago in about 2 months. I was wondering if there are any nitro off road tracks within the city? I wont have a car over there, so I was wondering if there is anything that is public transportation accessible.

Welcome to the wind city. The place where summer is just too short, and winter just too long... But this beautiful lake city is what makes everything worth.

John,

Leisure Hours and IRP - Intense Raceway Park in Dekalb are the closest.

There really isn't anything in Chicago or the near suburbs....the land cost too much :P

In the winter there's only one track Leisure Hours in Joliet, IL.

In the Summer we all travel a circuit that includes Hardesty's (Indiana), Leisure Hours (Joliet), The Rockpile (DeForest, Wi), Thunder RC (Elkhorn, WI), Nitrofarm (Jefferson, WI), DirtDawgs (Elburn, IL) as well as the regional RC Pro Series races.

Almost no one goes to IRP because it sucks.

I don't have a car either. If you live in the actual city of Chicago you can carpool with others. That's what I do.

That's right, forgot about that, they only run 1/10th scale indoors at Hardesty's in the winter right?

I'm pretty sure that Thunder RC will be running dirt oval indoors this winter also.

Don't forget carpet racing at His & Hers in Kenosha WI and the new place in Winthrop Harbor IL.

I have a Revo 3.3, a 1/10th scale electric and a 1/5th scale HPI Baja. I'm looking for a track in the area and/or other enthusiasts who know of driving locations in Evanston, Skokie, or pretty much anywhere in Cook county.
