I've been in RC for over 12 years and now I'm stationed in Germany and I'm having a REALLY hard time finding a track, on road or off... right now I have a xxx-4 G+ but I would buy an on road car if I could find a good track close buy ( and hour or 2)
I looked on the track DIR, and called all the places within 3 hours and I didn't get any answers! Either dead phone #'s or no one picked up. It's really not easy because of the lang. barrier.
So if some one lives close to Keiserslautern and would like to meet up/ or tell me where some good tracks are it would be awsome, I have about 4 friends that are into RC now and are all dieing to get to a track and see what racing is all about.

all I know of is that alot of people go to the old flight line at sembach (sp). I live right outside of k town and I have a loaded rc18t so email me at mattsimonton@sbcglobal.net and do you know of any hobb shops that are near that may stock associated parts? I need tires and a shock spring retainer. and if you know of any body wanting to trade for an mt or an airplane pass my email address on. thanks

I know some people meet at the real (pernounced re-al) on sundays just to drive around, and in Huchenhousen they have an on-road out door track, and a 18th off road track that is privetly owned with outlets (220v) but I think that they let anyone on it, i "talked" to the guy he said it's ok that I drive my car on it, but NO GAS powered cars for sure.
The only hobby shop that I know of is the one in K-town. and they don't have anything AE. have you been to Sembach and driven your car there?
Me and my buddies found a huge empty dirt lot in landshutal (SP?) that was a lot of fun to run our cars at. But I'm really looking for a track/hobbyshop combo kinda thing with some serious racers.
Once I get an on road car I'm going to take it to Huchenhousen on Sundays as they have real races, and run it there, but my buddy (been in RC for about 6months-1yr) took his TC4 there and got SMOKED by the people there, I told him not to get discuraged it's their track!
P.S. yeehaww e-mail sent

There are no hobby shop tracks like what we are used to in the states. If you want to race off-road seriously, you will be forced to commute over an hour or two to race. All of the off-road tracks are private clubs. None of them are businesses like in the states. You will need to join the club if you want to race. You will also have to join the DMC so you can get insurance. It is like ROAR in the states. If you want to race off-road, you will need to run 1/8th scale. It is the only really popular class in Germany. http://www.hessencup.com/ That is the link to the regional series for 1/8th scale that covers the Kaiserslautern area. The local club that competes in that series is ORC Saar. They have a track about 1/2 hour from K-town. If you contact the hessen cup people they can get you in contact with them. They are great guys. I was a member of that club for about 3 years. They don't speak much English, but I learned enough German from hanging out with them to make it workable. The club president is Ralf Schiestel, and he has forgotten more about 1/8th scale racing than I ever hope to learn. I spent many winter German nights working in his shop on my buggies, and he will help anyone who wants to learn.
For on-road, you will have to join the club in Huetschenhausen. It is the only track in the area that is permanent for on-road. I used to run in the Keil-cup. It is an on-road series that similar to Tamiya TCS. It is restricted on what chassis you can run and what motors, but I don't know what the status is now.
Look into http://www.lrp-hpi-challenge.de/ It seems to be the biggest current series in Germany. The track at huetschenhausen hosted a race there in June, so they should be able to help you find more races. If you join the club, they usually travel to races together and help each other with set-ups and the like. Hope this helps. I had to figure out all of this stuff on my own when i was stationed there.

That is the link to the DMC. They have contact info for all of the clubs in Germany that are registered with them. It is a worthwhile organization to join for the insurance alone.
Good Luck,

there is also a hobby shop in Kusel but from what I hear it is really hard to get to. It looks more like a house than a business.

one of my buddies told me there's a hobby shop near hooters...the one close to us, I can't remember the name of the town. I'll try to find out where it is, and I'll post an address.

I can also tell you for sure that the only thing that runs year round is touring car. If you race off-road, the season is only about 4 or 5 months long. The TC's run indoors during the winter. There are several clubs that set-up temporary tracks in Gymnasiums and town halls and hold races. One of the big ones was always Russelheim. It is about halfway to Frankfurt from K-town. They always had an enormous track.
Once again get in contact with the club in Hutschenhausen, and they should be able to help you find more races.
