View Full Version : Can I change a 35mhz to a 27mhz or 40mhz

This may sound stupid but can I buy a 35 mhz Transmitter and change it to a 27 mhz or a 40 mhz. If so how do I do it.

Most of the radio manufacturers will change your radio from one band )35 mHz to 27 or 40 mHz, or 72 mHz to 75 mHz) for a nominal fee. The radio needs to be retuned to the frequency band, which requires some special equipment and a government authorized repair center. Here in the US, it is illegal to change from 72 to 75 mHz unless the radio has a frequency module (Futaba 9 CAP is an example). If the radio has crystal, the suystem needs to be retuned.
