The biggest warbird gathering in the Northeast, each year Warbirds over Delaware attracts hundreds of giant-scale fighters and bombers. From WW I and WW II to the Korean and Vietnam wars, heavy-metal military hardware is ever present. Held at Lums Pond State park in Kirkwood, DE, the event is now in its 15th year and is hosted bt the Delaware RC Club.

Dean DiGeorgio flew this AirWorld FW-190. it was powered by a large radial engine.

Matt Chapman flew this 1/3-scale Bucker Jungmeister (of course inverted) during the warbird meet! It is Gary Allen's prototype for his construction article that appeared in MAN.

It did rain and there was fog at the meet! Here's my 1/4-scale Balsa USA Fokker Triplane waiting for the Dawn Patrol to arrive!

B-17 pilot Mitch Epstein, returns from a bombing sortie over the cliffs of Dover. landing lights on, engine out and landing gear hanging! (Don't worry!, it's all part of the show!)

A 1/6-scale, 14-foot span, electric-powered Gotha WW1 German bomber built by Jerry O'Connor flew several times during the event! Pilot Ed Andrews commented that it is a pilot's model to fly and you never get to rest until the model is back down on the ground and turned off in the pit area! Beautifully done scratch design!

Dave Malchione Jr. flew this well known BVM F-4 Phantom. The turbine powered jet had no trouble getting off the grass, even with its relatively small wheels!

This 1/3-scale Glenn Torrance Models Fokker Dr.1 Triplane was just a knockout! It flew very well!

Flown by Tim Hagerty, this Hangar 9 Hellcat ARF was powered by a new Zenoah G-20 engine! Great performer!

Hi George! good to hear from you! Yes the fog made it look like a German aerodrome on Saturday morning! The Triplane flies great! But it seems it always rains when I take it out!
