Hi all:
Just getting back into RC cars and racing after a 3 year layoff.
I still have a Assoc. NTC3 Nitro car, A Tamiya M414 and F-103 electrics,
A Novak Millenium charger, an Airtronics 3PS Caliber, and a M-8 radio.
I am in Orange County, CA. and after looking around a little, it appears that this hobby is dead or near dead.
I am a on road only driver. Who's doing what these days?

Damn California has lots of kick a$$ tracks and I have none in Arizona that I know of. Plus the hobby is growing so just find a parking lot put up some sighns for RC on road racing in the town and race with some doods. Make track out of whatever you can find.

Hmmmm, you seem to have been out of touch also.
Four years ago there was 3 or 4 events running every weekend. To many and the end result was that no one did very well and keeping the interest up.
Now there is Nothing going on withing 15 miles of me.
Oh well, I'll get cheap batteries and go play at Tamiya. :)

Dude what did you do, go down the street to the 7-11 and give up? You are probably close to one of the largest racing communities in Southern Cali, SoCal Racing (http://socal.rcracing.com/)! (AKA OC Circuit, Orange County Circuit.)
SoCal will hook you up with **all** the tracks down there, check it out and when you cross paths with Charlie B, tell 'im rocknbil sez "HEY!" :D

As a matter of fact, I know Mr. C Brown and have raced with him on numerous
occasions in the past.
The La Mirada track is average at best but that's not Charlies fault. I was hoping to find something more central/southern Orange County.

<shrug> Well it's something, I am stuck with a little loop on my property some mental giants have labled as a "mud pit." :D
Pretty sure OC Circuit is hooked up with all the tracks down there, not just the Mirada. It's been over 30 years since I lived down there, old Torrance boa' here. Besides I hath no pity - you can just DRIVE to RCX! :D
Hope ya hook it up.

There's onroad racing at Socal twice a week (Tues and Sat). I'm pretty sure you could find some good racing there.
