i look at the for sale stuff sometimes and once in a while people write "BUMP" in their threads.. sometimes its a lot what the heck does that mean?

bump does just that, it bumps the thread up to the top of the forum

The term "bump" puts your add back at the top of the for sale thread.
If the item has not sold, it could wind up on the 8th 10th or even farther down the list of items for sale, and a lot of buyers simply will not look at the pages further down the list.
It just puts your add on the first page again.

Actually, it means the initial post was so unimpressive that no one paid any attention to it, completely ignored it ON PURPOSE, and since this possibility is so far outside the thinking of the original poster, it's the only thing they can think of to do. Not review their thread and think of how it can be rewritten to assume some form of usefullness, just type "Bump" and press enter.

So every time you see "bump" - that's what the poster has on their shoulders instead of a human head with a brain in it - a useless bump.

Nah. Bumping was stupid before I quit smoking, and it's still stupid. No, people who bump aren't stupid, it's just a stupid action, a ploy for attention. :rolleyes: It was just a joke.
