I have an electric Traxxas Rustler. Just curious if any 1/10 scale body I can buy would find it, or do I specifically have to look for ones made for the Rustler.
(I can't really go look at my LHS since they are 2.5 hours away).
thanks

Look for whether it mentions a brand name, some bodies may be generic others are formed to fit a specific model or brand.
You might be able to cut and modifiy some bodies to fit, though it may not look as good.

Usually, I pay close attention to the body mount holes and their locations . Not-so-much their EXACT locations, but the heighth of the front mounts as-opposed to the heighth of the rears. Usually, ANY 1:10 stadium truck body will fit your truck chassis. Just don't do like I did in my newb days, and accidentally order a NITRO body by mistake. You'll find no use what-so-ever in thos additional large holes in the body, other than an eyesore that reminds you of your(read "my") stupidity. LOL
Usually, I'll check out HPI's website for bodies, then find either a LHS or an online retailer that carries that body, and select whichever location sells the body cheapest. :)

I am assuming though, that something such as this body (http://www.hpiracing.com/bodies/bodyfocus.php?item=partnumber&value=7184) wouldn't work with my Rustler.
Should I look more at car bodies or truck bodies, since the Rustler falls in the middle.

something like that would not fit but could be made to fit if maybe you added or re routed your body mounts. that is also a regular truck body but could very well fit an on road car quite well, you wanna look for stadium truck bodies and towerhobbies is the place to order you one. also peep prolines site and parma. top names in lexan bodies for cars and trucks. proline should have a pretty nice selection for you to choose from, you could also go with an HPI stadium truck body for some of the buggy's they make.

Not-to-mention, that body is also 1:8, for the T-Maxx/E-Maxx.

just so I'm getting this right, this one (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRP08&P=7) should fit, correct?
My only concern is that it is long and wide enough for the Rustler.
thanks a lot.

If you ream/drill your own holes, it might fit. That body is made for a nitro mt and it has holes drilled for that car, so you'll have holes that you're not going to use. If I were you, I'd just stick with a body that is made to fit the rustler.
