Quesestion About Receivers

I have an HPI MT2 that came with a RF-2 receiver. I just bought a new Airtronics TF-3 remote to replace the cheap TX-2 that came with the truck. My question is whether the new remote will work with existing receiver or do I have to use the RF-1 that came with the new TF-3. The truck came with the RF-2. It seems to control the car fine but I have not run it yet becuase I want to make sure there are no issues.

As long they are on the same frequency and channel it should work

For example a 27 Mhz FM Transmitter would have to work with a 27 MHz FM Receiver.
