could anyone out there recommend a good enough receiver for bashing my buggy. preferably one with good range and at least 2 channel ports for my servo and esc and that doesnt cost too much.

and also, if i was to get a new receiver, would my existing Radio be compatible with it, as long as it has the same frequency?

What brand of radio?
Which type of modulation (AM or FM)?
What band (27MHz / 75MHz)?

Well, if it works, dont bother trying to "upgrade" (as it may not be compatable). Just get a decent FM system....

You'll need either the original brand receiver or aftermarket brands that is ACOMs compatible on the same frequency band 27MHz AM.
Older radios had more problems with reception, newer narrow band radios reduced the problem some but receivers should work. Haven't seen ACOMS name is a long time.

If you want to save money. Buy a new system that someone has at an ebay chop shop.
You can get a descent sytem that comes with rtr's that people have know use for. I saw the system that comes with the savage x for 22.99.
