I use the glow ignitor that comes with my Kyosho Inferno TR-15.
Its the one with 2 D cells and the little long wire that goes the the stick part of the ignitor lol.
The batt's go in differently thought like, 2 Positves on one side, and 2 Negatives on the other side. Kinda like...
< (+ -) =batt
< (+ -) =batt
Ok, two D's = what 3 volts? Isnt that too much lol, or what.
What kind of ignitor should I use for OS A3, plugs?
Sounds weird, but i hear glow plugs only are for about 1.2-1.5 volts.
It seems that my ignitor its 3 volts because im using 2 D batts.
Im confused, is it different voltage because of the way the batts are wired? (series or parrell)

You would have 3volts if they are hooked in series like in a flashlight. According to how you said the batts are installed they are in parallel and would only give 1.5volts but now would have almost twice the capacity. You are correct, igniters use 1.2-1.5v.
Ingiters are a high current draining device. The 2 D cells in parallel is an effort to make the igniter last or ignite longer. I've had several of the cheapie type rtr igniters that use a single C cell and they don't light for long, usually only a few starts. Then the C cell no longer has the oomph to generate a good light and its time for another.
There are a lot of good igniters out there. Here's a thread where several were discussed. I would get me a package of D cells and use it to see just how long it will provide good starts. You might wind up liking it.

Thanx lol, i read that thread, i actually posted in it a while back.
I just felt wierd at the local race track with this big enourmous ignitor lol. Every has a sleek sexy stick lookin ignitor and i pull this big clumsy mess out of my pocket lol!!!
But, i do get twice the "run time". Also, i use rechargeable batteries.

Yeah, I posted in that one too - I use that Hobbico HotShot 2 - its a single NiCd D Cell - 5000mah and it rocks. Yes, its top heavy and it weighs a little more, but at the end of a day running, its not unusal for my one of my friends to ask to borrow it cause their sleek, slim igniters have given up for the day - they know mine will get them going, lol!
I'd rather have the security of knowing mine will last an last an last..... Thats great using a rechargeable cell - at least you're not fighting the alkaline batt "fade". Yours must last forever!!
I've got a C cell rtr one like I said and if I get 3 starts off it, its doing good using alkalines. I never thought about til you said you're using rechargeables, but I may have to try a rechargeable C cell in one of my rtr cheapies.

OO btw, the cheap rtr run ignitors that have 2 D cells in them kinda rock lol. Especialy with nicad batts. (there my old d cells lol, i didnt buy nimh d's yet)
They give over 10 starts lol. Hmm thats like 1 minute of use i guess.
