I have a couple lst2 questions and here they are...

What parts do i need to make it into a 1 high tourge servo set up?
Could you please list the part numbers? :)

Anybody here hear anything about these? good or bad?http://www.killerhobbies.com/Browse_Item_Details.asp/Item_ID/1017/categ_id/23/parent_ids/0,90,18,23/Name/New_Era_Team_Losi_LST_and_LST2_silver_steel_tube_r oll_bar_wbrace_-_NEMLST910MDS

About the losi wing kit? It looks flimsy to me but i've been wrong before :p any first hand experiences?

Are losi yellow springs http://www.killerhobbies.com/Browse_Item_Details.asp/Item_ID/204/categ_id/11/parent_ids/0,90,18,11/Name/Shock_Spring_Yellow_74_lb_(1_pair)_-_Team_Losi_LST_-_LOSB2952 too stiff for bashing AND racing?

The team losi heavy duty chassis and skids etc. are these a big upgrade from the stock chassis? Because ive already bent the stock main chassis plate. Was wondering if these would help durability and if there worth there price.

Last question...anybody here any reviews on this?http://www.killerhobbies.com/Browse_Item_Details.asp/Item_ID/739/categ_id/32/parent_ids/0,90,18,32/Name/Crazy_Nut_Racing_Dual_brake_kit_-_LSTLST2_-_CNR6060 Just wondering if its another worthy upgrade.

thats it lol. Asking all these questions becausae im thinking of saving up to make a complete lst2 overhaul. thx a lot abels

abels621,

Just for a background, I have been running the LST 1st Gen for about the last 2 years. I don't know that I can help with your first three questions because I haven't tried them (yet :) ), however:

Springs:
For racing I am running black in the front and silver in the rear and the suspension is preloaded with the arms level. I tried running silver all around and, with the way I race, the truck would always leave the jumps more nose up than I liked resulting in increased braking to counteract. I picked up a full set of black springs and tried those. This time the rear of the truck would come up off the jump higher causing the truck to want to do a front flip. To counteract this I would have to hit the throttle. Running black in the front and silver in the rear, my truck seems to have better balance during jumps. I don't do a whole lot of bashing, so, I can't suggest anything for that.

Chassis plates:
After one season I spent my winter changing out all of the chassis plates on my LST to the HD anodized plates. I have had some pretty crazy crashes and have not bent any plates. In fact, I am still running the original 1st gen side rails. I believe in them, especially the center plate that covers the hole in the trans cover and protects the exhaust (http://www.killerhobbies.com/Browse_Item_Details.asp/Item_ID/197/categ_id/11/parent_ids/0,90,18,11/Name/Heavy_Duty_Chassis_Skid_Plate_-_Team_Losi_LST_-_LOSB2261). BTW, if you need an extra set of chassis plates, I am not using my originals. :D

CNR brake upgrade:
Absolute must!!! I will recommend these any day of the week. The stock steel disks and pads will degrade to a point where, when you engage the brakes, they will virtually lock up and sent the truck into a front flip, and it won't take long to get there. I don't remember how many times it happened to me. This setup will not lock up like the stock disks/pads. I have heard of people using these disks with the High-performance brake pads (http://www.killerhobbies.com/Browse_Item_Details.asp/Item_ID/201/categ_id/11/parent_ids/0,90,18,11/Name/High_Performance_Brake_Pads_-_Team_Losi_LST_-_LOSB3606) from Losi with good results as well.

I hope this helps and good luck with yours.

I have the wing on mine and haven't had any problems. It looks a little "worse for wear" with all the scrapes and gouches in it from the tumbles but it's held up great so far! There is a another benifit that I never thought of when I bought it... it acts as a pretty good wheelie bar when you need it!

As for the springs, I use Black on the front and Yellow on the back and they work well for me. Much better than stock for both bashing and the track. I also run sway bars to help level it out a bit.

Chassis/skid plates, I have the all 3 HD skids, they're a must in my opinion. Especially the center one because of the extra protection it offers and I would have to say the same about the front since it helps protect the steering servos better. I haven't bought the HD chassis yet but it's on my "list". One thing I would recommend if you haven't already replaced it is the chassis/engine brace. I replaced mine with the integy one and it works great!

Can't comment on the roll bar or brake upgrade as I made my own roll bar and I'm still running the stock brakes... I'm thinking about upgrading to the integy brakes!

well after racing my LST2, I use yellow front springs and Black in the rear.. also the cnr brake upgrade is def the way to go.. I personaly dont use a wing but I dont think they are weak.. Now as far as the HD skid plates If your planning on racing dont bother it just adds undue weight. I dont bother with the roll cage either as I tend to keep it off it's lid. It would be a good upgrades if you were planning on bashing..

I race with suckfish and he's actually a very good racer. His truck is always dialed and never seems out of sort. Hey Suckfish don't you run sway bars also?

I up graded my hinge pins to Carbon fibers one; lighter than steel, aluminum, and even titanium but has the strength of titanium. I also upgraded the steel chub rods to titanium. Don't foget the FOC. I easily shaved almost 2lbs off my truck. I've taken it to the track several times for practice and so far it seems dialed without having to do much to the suspension

Sway bars will help with the corners I almost perfer without to slid into and thru the corners.. But yes the FOC is also a must when shaving off weight.. the suspension is def a great setup..

thx guys-so lets see here? Wing, FOC, Im gonna use the HD plates cause i bash a lil as well as i race. What swaybars do you use In the front and rear? Yes im going to leave off the roll bar just wondering how it would hold up. Still not sure of springs...im getting a lot of different responses but i thik im leaning toward yellow in the back and blk up front. I was going to try the losi HP brkae pads also. Also what gear fluid and shock fluid should i run? Track is medium in length with some large sweepers and some tight bends?

For swaybars, I use thick in the front & thin in the rear. As far as fluids, I use 40 weight in the shocks and 30K in the diffs. I was using 60K in the front but I kept snapping axles and pins. With this setup I can sometimes drift through large turns at about 75% throttle.

The stock fluids are perfect for both track and bashing

The Crazy Nut Racing Brake pads are far better..
