Hi,
i was wondering which is a good esc which will be able to handle about 24 cells
would i need 2 esc to do this or would one be enough (i shall only have one motor)
Thanks

What will you be using this ESC in? What sort of amp draw will the motor have? Most ESC's to handle this type of voltage are designed for planes & boats.

Tekin and Novak made esc with 20 cell capacity, Astro Flight had a model that handled 36cells when rc drags and oval speed runs were popular. As far as I know Astro Flight is the only company that make escs mostly for planes and one model for dragsters with 20+ cell capacity.
Some of the competition esc can handle around 12 for short durations.

i had an old dragster layin around in the house, and the esc on it has broke, i would really like to see this thing in action but i need a new esc to do this, on the chassis it has space for 24 cells, i think its been custom made from the guy who used to live in the house we have moved into i dont know wat amp draw it will require

During one point RC Drags and Truck Pulling was very popular. There were more products commercially available including chassis/kits, motors, escs and batteries were usually 1/2 sub C.
There were 4-5 companies that made dragster kits (pro stock, F/C and T/F chassis) and several others that made components and equipment.
Another method used to control on/off throttle function, was to use a micro switch, but had to be rated high enough to withstand the voltage and amp loads. It was attached to a micro servo (weight and space savings), with wiper arm controlled by servo movement/throttle trigger. In high voltage situations the wiper could be welded in open position causing car to be out of control.
