I have a picco .27 w/ orange head and i need to fiddle with the tune a bit but other than that i like it. i cannot find the stock settings anywhere.
it sounds like the low speed is too lean....is there plenty of blue smoke coming from the pipe?
Heres my take..... Id turn the low speed needle counter clockwise about 1/8 turn until it bogs a little but will idle. You shouldnt have to set the idle screw high so the engine races...thats defeating the purpose of the low speed needle. then richen the high speed needle so that its running rich. it should idle for at least 10-15 seconds before the engine loads up with fuel. when u give it gas it shold bog. Drive it around slowly and then when its up to temp after a few minutes of running slowly lean out the high speed needle. Lean it out 1/8 at a time until its mid-to high range performance increases but make sure there is smoke coming out of the pipe throughout the power range. The high speed needle, when leaned out, should also slightly increase the performance of the bottom end. Do not touch the low speed needle. Temps.....im getting around 270-280 depending on the day and temp, but everyone's will vary. DO NOT TUNE TO RUN AT A CERTAIN TEMP! Just because its running at 230-240 does not mean its in its peak settings. But anything higher than 295 will probably decrease the life of the motor.
Right now my motor needs to be re tuned becasue it kept shutting off on me at the track. When i temped it after a few hard laps...it was around 330!!!!! I richened it up right away though. Take your time and if you do you really cant screw up your motor. Make sure your glow plug lights up fully and make sure your fuel isnt old. Im running an RB glow plug and it seems to be good. I also heard the Mccoy plugs are good too.
Good Luck
If anybody wants to add to this or give more ideas...please do. I dont think im some engine guru but i do read alot about motors and have tuned a good amount with usually good results :)

try putting a cold plug in and running 30%. I did that and i all i had to do was adjust the hsn 1/8th turn for it to run good.
