Alright yes i blew it up, heres the story....I just got done fooling with the shock setups, so i wanted to go test it out. it was a nice day out too..cant wait to run this, so as im running this i was giving it just the start off throttle and then it just dead stopped. wasnt no to leaned stop. it was gas/Stop... so i managed to take apart the engine and i noticed i saw some peices in the engine layting around. so i looked around in there and i noticed it was the crankshaft, so i blew up the crankshaft..the end

BullyDawg- i just got done putting all the servos back in the revo just like 5 min ago. yes good backup truck, i blew the Crankshaft pin and it seized the engine up. i dont know why it cracked off but it sure stopped that engine on a dime. haha

Thats too bad, It must really suck to blow a motor...I have been in this hobby for 3 years (i'm 15 now) With all nitro cars and have never blown a motor. I have had 2.5r, .18tm, 2 .12r ss, Picco .21, XTM .21. I know if I blew a motor I wouldn't be very happy. Good thing you have a good sense of humor!

It happens and when it does, its stinks. Its good to have a sense of humor and a Revo as a back up :)(now primary).
After reading this thread, I feel very old, lol. I'm 32, dont tell anybody.
Later, good luck

WOW!!! I have to agree with Tig. I feel old, Im 30 and I have 2 savage limiteds, a helicoptor, Airplane, Traxxas sport, NTC3,a 3 foot tank, OH, one of my LE is a twin engine kit from hot bodies( My shelf queen as I have heard them called). I also have a rc10 gt, a traxxas sport electric and a grasshopper 2. lol Us old farts know all about the old school R/C cars. But, to stay with the topic, I think I blew a motor in my NTC3. I bought it used and it was treated pourly from the previous owner and when I got it its days were numbered so when it blew I took the .15 out of my traxxas sport and swapped it with the stock .12 in the NTC3 and dropped the 2 speed trans in it. I havent had the time to take it apart and see why it stopped working???

ericem,
You're a funny guy, lol. Yes, I can drive. Its fun at first but, when you have to do it, its starts to wear off. Especially when you have to drive at 5AM to go to work.
DarkSavage,
I like that "fresh checken", maybe I will change my user name to that,:D

later fellas

Ill bet its a different feeling with a subaru legacy(my moms car).

Tig

Legacys are sweet, I was actually debating whether to trade my truck (GMC Sierra 2500HD) in for a Legacy.
I meant more like, when you first get your license its fun. After you've had your lisence for so many years, its just driving. Even though it would be more fun with a Legacy. I used to have an Impreza, that was a fun little car as well.

DarkSavage

No way keep the truck, but the gas prices are nuts so maybe the legacy can help out a little, the only bad things about subaru are theyre a pita to work on, you gotta take so much off to replace spark plugs since the boxer engine. my bro drives a 10sec WRX so i help out a little bit and i help out at my buddies performance shop. heres a quick image of his engine while it was out and his turbo...http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e319/beecha91/mymotor2.jpg

Tig

Yeah, I couldnt do it. Its a bada$$ truck. Future plans after warrenty. Definately boost, more than likely a Turbo. Maybe a TT. I would like to find a system in kit form, with everything included. I dont like to have others work on my cars/trucks.
Thats a sweet motor, 10 second car, very nice. Much props for bro. Feels good to get your hands dirty, huh. Greese is your friend, hold it, squeeze it, never let it go.
WRXs are sick rides, I am a BIG fan of Subaru. If I were to get a car it would be a Subaru.

Ya the WRX is sick, but im not old enough to drive. Waa. But thats ok, my $700 bike is pretty good. My dad said hes going to drop a STi engine in my 1993 legacy and 6 speed tranny. Ya right, but i saw someone who did that to there 93 legacy wagon on cardomain. Must be super quick. Even our car with a 4 cylinder 130hp engine its still super quick for a little 2.2l engine pushing a heavy drivetrain. 0-60 is like 10secs. Its not spectactular but its very good considering the weight of this vehicle. The only reason why i like subaru just because they make something special, and not something everyone else has.

DarkSavage

Nice. He dropped a 2.5l engine in his, sti jdm 6spd trans

ericem
08-17-2006, 09:43 AM
I dont like 2.5l engines just arent known to be the most reliable, especially when there prone to headgasket failer, where as with the 2.2l engines there bullet proof.

DarkSavage

Well he got the axis 2.5shortblock with built ported heads, bigger cams, ported intake manifold.

Dont worry just study a little harder or play more lotteries, or invest in a penny stock.
