Install Mugen 1.1 springs on your clutch shoes. I've heard of others doing it for years and I finally did it. Made a HUGE difference in how hard my Savage pulls and it even seems to be faster on the top end too. Make sure you use a clutch install tool though, because they are STIFF.
Just thought I would let some others know. :)

What clutch shoes are you using? Carbon, aluminum, or HPI's carbon/teflon?

I have those on my Savage with Mugen alloy shoes and they ROCK!! Completely eliminated any slippage.

Yeah I done this long ago to my quake its like adding a turbo to your engine so to speak the gains you get.

Ridiculous pull. I wouldn't of believed there's that much of a difference if I hadn't seen it myself.
Wonder why no one mentioned this as a priority when I was a newb, instead of the ms filter, pipes, FOC, etc. etc.

I had the same experience with my sav x with ofna blue shoes. http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/showthread.php?t=221760 I actually ended up changing to an hpi purple with the weights in them. the lighter clutches hit so hard I was having a hard time finessing the truck around the track. it was kind of all or nothing type powerband.
