Well, i was looking through Tower for a new charger since mine stopppedd working (old Radio Shack unit) i have a power supply its a Radio Shack regulated supply, it puts out 13.8vdc and 3amps...my friend gave a me a barely used Duratrax Intellipeak mini pulse charger, lthough its AC only...i was wondering if i can use the power supply with the intellipeak safely? i would be using the 2 to charge my 3 duratraxx piranha 1900s (6 cell, 7.2v NiCd) will this work?

You would only be able to charge at up to 3 amps max.

If the charger is AC only then it will not work with your DC power supply. It likely came with it's own AC power supply and should stick with that.

Sorry, i meant to say it is DC only..hence why i would want to use my DC supply with it, i found it on Tower if that helps....http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHJB5&P=7

Then it should work, but you'll be limited to no more than a 3 amp charge rate. Anything more would be pullin too much from your power supply.

If the specs on Tower are accurate, it'll run on anything from 11 - 15 volts, 13.8 is well within that range.

That particular ps should be able to max out the mini-pulse on a 6 cell batt. (just barely) At the very worst the rate will diminish down a bit at the end of the charge which is not a bad thing at all. I would use it.
