Hi all- Wondering if anyone can help a new guy.

I have a Tamiya M03 Cooper. The 540 engine and Tamiya ESC are stock with less than 10 hours of use. The battery is at full charge. Yet after 2 or less minutes of full throttle play, the car starts to slow down, then stops. When I give it full throttle, it briefly accelerates, then cuts out. When I accelerate at less than half throttle, the car creeps along just fine. But anything more, it accelerates briefly, then cuts out. I checked the battery (also less than 10 hours of total use), and it still has a charge. I've reset my ESC many a time. Is my ESC dying on me? Any help appreciated!

What motor is it? It sounds like maaybe the ESC is going into thermal shutdown.

It is a 540 '(Johnson) Closed Endbell Stock Motor'. It came with the kit.

strange...that should not be causing any kind of overload...is the ESC heat sinks hot when this happens? Could it be glitching possibly?

this happens to me when my battery is low...are you sure the battery is charged?

i had to get a replacement battery when this exact same thing happened to me...then it worked fine!
