i bought it used in a xx4 and it worked fine before. I set full throttle/brake and neautral and I ran part of a pack through it. Now i decided id set up the specific profile and at first it was going to blue led so i could pick the min. brake profile but now its like the setup switch is stuck in. No matter how hard i push it and hold it, it will not do anything except keep a solid red light(which i think means its in neutral)
The thing is i have no thottle at all. Just peaked the batt so thats not the problem, steering works fine, leads are all connected right. Im starting to get mad. After a few minutes of it being on i thought it started to get warm and temped it with my temp gun. It was about 98-100 degrees?!?!?!? What the heck is going on?
I decided to sell all my nitro to get into electric and it seems like somebody doesnt want me too!!!!
Any ideas?
I hope i have better luck with the 2 used novak 5.5 setups i have coming this week :(

Yeah im not a big fan of used electric stuff either. Im just getting into electric so i figured id save some money just in case i decide i dont want to run it......Everything else i bought from the guy was in amazing condition. It all seemed very well taken care of.
I ended up trading my two truggies for two xx4's(one worlds edition) both have novak 5.5's. As long as when i get them, and those work like they are supposed to ill be happy. I plan on racing this upcoming sunday so i hope everything goes well!

Send novak an email. They may be able to tell you what to look at. Sounds like your on-off\setup switch may be bad. If this is the case you could order 1 cheaper then repair. Normally repairs are around $40. No matter what the damage. Plus you have to pay to ship it to them. There is a form on their site.

www.teamnovak.com in the customer service section. Non Warranty Exchanges are the least expensive way to get something "fixed".
Thanks

So i can send in my GTX and get a remanufactured GTX for $59 not including shipping and handling fees, right?
I dont have the box, instructions, or any extras though....does that matter?
email novak direct for a faster response.
usually just send the esc and buy the remanufactured. they are as good as new with all the extras just no box.

Right it's like a "core" exchange. You don't have to include the accessory items, box, or manual. In fact you get a replacment manual, fresh accessory items, but no box.

So the harnesses and diode do not need to be exchanged with the esc, right? I can just send the actual gtx in a box.......
Ill have to do this next week. Sounds good to me. For now im running my Novak 5.5 and its sick!!!!
Thanks Charlie for the help :)
