Are they any good? i doubt it, but do they compare to deans plugs?

hmmm...
i have nevr heard of them
i dont think they will be better than deans. i bet they are still better than the tamiya connectors though!

Wow, Race Prep connectors!! I used to use those in the 1980s, they were orange colored back then.
They're very similar to Deans and have more contact area for less resistance but it may be easier to reverse the polarity by accident.

well just to let you know, some guys in china are selling deans "style" connections on eBay for VERY little...
i think they come out about 1 buck a set...look arround youl find em...
i got a set of 10 and they work very well! (only problem is they dont work with original deans for some reason when they are completely locked together they have no contact at all with male and femal) but if you use the male and females that they sell you have no probs!
Good luck!

the race prep are old school and only more efficient thing we had in the 80's besides direct solder.now compared to deans or powerpoles there more like stock tamiyas

Not really, they still reduce the resistance and will not melt down under high amp loads.

Powerpoles all the way!

Problem with powerpoles (sermos) is that the plastic breaks down and falls off, plus they're too big and bulky. Deans plugs seem to be the best around if you need to use connectors.

deans can be a pain to solder if you dont know how to do it right, and theres a chance you can keep a low wattage iron on it and youd change the angle of the plug such that it wouldnt fit into its corresponding connector. with powerpoles you can also reuse them and if you make a mistake, its easy to rewire and reconnect them

I don't run much electric but I run RacePreps on my motors and Deans on my batteries (I just did it that way). They have a LOT of surface contact (probably three times Deans). As far as resistance, I doubt you will see any difference. Amp's, My money is on RacePreps. Lot of buss bar there, and it makes good contact.

personally i prefer Corallys for batt to speedo and deans for motor...saves having to solder an extra pair of wires to each set of batts!
