I have an Evader BX that I purchased a few months ago. It has the Duratrax Intellispeed Fwd/Rev Autosportspeed ESC and Trinity PsK2 stock motor. It has the Tower hobbies AM, 2-channel transmitter/receiver with it. Recently, it started driving poorly. It was difficult to get it rolling. You needed to 'give it a push' to get it to start rolling. Reverse was even more difficult. When I got a chance to look at it later that night, I took it apart and then did a little online research. Some other people with similar problems said they had a stuck motor brush. So I took the motor apart and sure enough, one of the brushes was stuck. I figured I was home free so I powered it back up. It worked much better but it would not go in reverse. I decided to reset the ESC using the directions provided. I was not able to complete the setup. For some reason, I could not get it to do the 'two lights on' signal to get reverse set. I could do it if I first set the neutral and max throttle and then used the trim adjustment to get it to set correctly for reverse. Doing that, the truck would still not really go in reverse (even with the trim knob). Anyway, I tried about a million settings over a period of about two hours, but I could not get it set correctly and none of the adjustments would make it go in reverse. I also 'hot wired' the motor directly (bypassing the esc) and the motor seemed to work fine in both directions (spun REALLY fast). It seems as if the ESCs expected 'span' from neutral to reverse (or max to reverse) is way too far or it is screwed up altogether. Could the stuck brush have burnt it out somehow?

All help with this problem much appreciated!

P.S. I have already contacted Duratrax with a similar message. Anyone have any idea whether they will be helpful or not?

did you put new brushes in the motor? I think your ESC might be shot, you may be able to send it into duratrax and get it rebuilt.

a hung brush or large amount of resistance can cause an entry level ESC to malfunction. If duratrax will send you a new one, get it.

Oh, and welcome!

Where your cells fully charged when this happened ? And when was the last time you cleaned the motor and replaced the brushes? RED

Programmin the ESC is tricky. first charge that batteries, then reprogam the ESC. by the instruction. pressing the button to program an wait til it answers you. by chirping or light flickers. take your time cuz it is different on programable ESC. it takes time for it to take the programing. wait for thew next step.
