does anyone know if brushed motors sales have gone down since so many manufactures now make brushless setups through the years? I ask becuase now trinity has released their brushless version I remember reading in my mag awhile back they claimed brushless did not provide any performance over brushes.

I'm not sure, I imagine they are down slightly, but they always have the racing customers and starting rc. I don't think brushed motors will die out for quite a while.
Personally I haven't ran a brushed motor in over 3 years, nor will I ever buy one.

I just blew my 4.5 over the weekend and while I am waiting to hear from Novak on the warranty (bought it Jul 11 of this year and it blows 8/26  ), I just went ahead and bought another brushless motor. I figure if they give me another, I can sell it and get what I paid. So, that being said, it's obvious brushless is selling. With Reinhard, Spashett, Hara. Cavaleri and all these other cats still running AND winning with brushed, I dare to say their numbers have dwindled but not by much. In going to hobbystores in nyc, they are stockpiled with brushed motors and keep barely any stock of brushless. I asked a few owners and they report that they sell them as customers request they be ordered and that the demand to keep them in stock hasnt really pushed them to buy in bulk. weird. I bet NITRO sales have dropped a bit :D

thanks for that info bxpitbull..interesting now seems a lot of manufactures are turning to brushless....I mean for me there is no nother answer, but that it might give too much power such as my dual novak brushless 4.5R in my juggernaut that was too powerful.

Now that is INSANE! I thought those trucks were meant for torque, maybe 7.5 or even the 6.5. Your truck must be (have been) flat out ridiculous!

I wouldn't think brushed sales have dropped any, since there are always new people getting into RC, and everyone starts with brushed. And 90% of racing is still done with brushed. But, I would imagine the rise in the sale of brushed motors has tapered off a bit as people slowly switch to brushless.
