i am pretty new to these boards and to the hobby, and am building my first rc truck...a team assoc. rc10 t4 factory truck. my question is about the install of the servo that comes with the spektrum dx2 radio. it has what looks like a 4 blade fan on it, and does not fit properly in the chassis, nor does it mimick the instructions that come with the truck for the servo install? what is the trick with this?
what do those blades do?
I am also having problems with my steering not being set up 100% properly, is there and easy way to center this so I can have my full range of motion?

It sounds like you're describing the servo horn. You will need to use a 'one armed' servo horn. There should be a couple of different horns that came with the radio or alternatively you can use the one provided by Associated with the T4 kit. My guess is the horn for JR servos would be the one to use, though I'm not 100% certain on that.

Use the JR horn from the T4 kit as described in their manual.

Well once you remove the screw retaining it.
Then follow the T4 manual on how to set up the servo.

ah, got it. I took the screw out earlier, but it was not coming out easily and I did not want to force it. I will use the setup that is in the t4 manual

I didn't understand what you were talking about in the other thread.
As they mentioned just remove the screw, pop off the current horn and put on the single-sided one that came with the T4 kit. Before you put the screw back in and mount everything in your truck though do the following:
Turn your radio on and center your steering trim (0 it out).
Plug everything in on your truck and turn it on. This should center the servo up.
Now attach the servo horn to the servo with it pointing as straight up as possible. This will give you equal throw left and right.
Now you can mount everything up.
If your radio can set sub-trim you can use this to get the servo closer to straight up. Then adjust your turnbuckles to get the front tires lined up straight. Use your trim on the radio as a last fine adjustment.

Oh, and the DX2 does have sub-trim I believe by the way.

Make sure you are putting the Z590 in for steering....

And for max steering set epa to 125, then back down if the steering knuckles stop movement sooner..

I wouldn't necessarily set it at 125. After he gets everything centered up he can just set the EPA to where he gets the most steering possible without binding.
