Which ESC is better?

Dudes, which would be better? Should I get my Tempest Pro repaired for around $25 or should I trade it in for a factory refurbished Dually? I know the Dually has smoother control (256 steps, vs 64, I think), but the Tempest has a little better on-resistance and a higher amp rating (I think). What should I get? Fixing the Tempest Pro will cost me $25-35, but getting the Dually will cost me $55. Please offer your advice. Thanks. I need to decide today!

You should do both and then sell the tempest (if ya dont want it) on ebay and get some money back for it

He's right. Besides the dually is smaller than the tempest, and its only 20 amps less than the tempest. Dually is 400 and Tempest is 420. I may be wrong

I'd love to do both, but I can only do either. Either Novak will fix the Tempest or I can get a Dually for $55.

Fix the Tempest! I have one and its been through alot of stuff and keeps on ticking! When the Tempest finaly goes to the big r/c heavan in the sky, then i would get a new one. If its fixable and will cost less then i would do it. The Tempest is a great ESC, just save up some money if you want a new ESC and buy it, then sell the Tempest on ebay. Oh yeah, what kind of Tempest is it? 2 or 3?

It's a Tempest Pro (#2). I've been very happy with it, too.

Just have the tempest fixed rather than paying $55 to get the dually. Because the dually only cost $90 for the brand new one from Tower. So why are you going to pay $55 for the rebult one. ( I am not sure Novak is going to give you the new or rebuilt. But I think they are gonna give you the rebuilt.) If they are going to give you the new one, then it might worth otherwise have your tempest fixed instead.

I also have the Tempest Pro 2. Great ESC i have ever had! My friend has one and it broke, so he sent it in to Novak for repair and they ended up giving him the new Tempest Pro 3. Really weird huh? I think the Tempest is one of the best ESC that Novak has ever made, beside the Cyclone. That will probably be my next ESC. I still don't know what that knob on the Tempest is for, i just set it between 5 & 6.

The Dually is an excellent ESC. The performance numbers are actally better. On Resistance is half! The Dually is also smaller and ligher.

He is the administrator over at Novak's Orange Room (their forum), and he's also their tech support guy. I think he knows what he's talking about, so I agree with him.
