Hello all. I am thinking of christmas prezzies already :o and would like a rustler.
I plan on getting one with a pack of gp3300 cells :)
I will get to enjoy that for ~3 months when my birthday hits! and will be asking for mamba max brushless system :)

Now for the questions:
Which brushless system?Theres a few differnt types of them :S [I am looking for wheelies on demand and a nice high speed!]
Does the rustler come with a charger when I buy from tower?
What sort of runtime with the GP3300 cells am I looking for? [stock/brushless]
Anything I should know or do you reccomend anything?

If you want anymore info from me, just ask :)
Thanks

The rustler doesn't come with batteries or a charger. The stock rustler with generic 1500mah batteries in my experiences is about 5 minutes, give or take. So around 7-9 minutes should be possible with the stock setup. the brushless equipped rustler runtimes aren't really clear unless you know the setup. A novak ss' runtime will be different from a mamba 5700, for example.

I run a lehner 5300/mtroniks genesis pro in my rustler, and get about 12 minutes of runtime on gp3700's. Keep in mind this is full throttle nearly the whole time and geared much higher than I should be geared.

The rustler for me running brushless only needed a aluminum idler gear, besides that, nothing. I haven't had any tranny problems at all.

Basically, it's how much money your willing to spend.

If you want a balls-to-wall speed demon with wheelies on demand. I would recommend the Mamba Max/5700 combo with a 3S lipo. After you have that, get as low a FDR as possible. The car would screaming!

How about on the new Rustler? The new one use 550 motor. So, do we need to use HV system? Or is there a better system that can run a lot of voltage? Thanks

If you get a Rustler and go brushless, be sure you also upgrade to bearings in the wheels. Probably should get the RPM carriers so you can use 5x11 bearings instead of the stock 5x8 size.

Seconded! I literally wore my bushings down quite a bit (enough to allow LOTS of play in the axles) with just an HV4400. (I just got the carriers and 5x11s; what a difference!)
