View Full Version : wanting to paint new body need help this is my first one

ok need some advice on painting the body and getting started its just going to be all black with normal flames in the front that i will draw with a permanent marke on the protective film side. do i use liquid mask or no??? if so after u paint over the mask how do u get it off???? im using an airbrush also any info on how to help me give me a step by step if you could plz i would really appreciate it.

The first step I would do would be to cut the body and mount it so everything is right. After that I clean the body with soap and water and it is then ready for masking. You can use liquid mask or you can use masking tape. Personal preference here. Remeber to mask out your windows. You draw out your flames on the outside of the body. Then you would cut out the mask on the inside of what you just drew. Always paint your darkest colour first. So remove mask leaving only the flames covered. Paint your black and then you can remove your flame mask. This you just pull of carefully. Then you spray your flame colour(s) and you may want to back the flames with white to make them "pop" more. After that you are good to go.

for designs with curves, go liquid, for designsd with more straight edge and angles, use tape. you can cut the liquid mask with an exacto kinfe.
