Well, I have some styrene that has been just lying on my bench and I haven't touched it in months, so I decided to do some body work on a Mazda RX-8 body shell.
When I first got the shell back in May I also ordered various thicknesses of styrene sheets aswell as rod and tubing. I guess you could say Mike Villena got me into this(scratch building), after seeing the amazing work he has done I decided to give it a shot myself. But I soon found out that it was not all that easy, and sort of gave up.
I decided I would give it another shot and see what happened!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I started on an intercooler for the shell. I cut strips to make a box and then reinforced it with other strips on the inside. For the cooling fins I measured out where the strips should be and then glued them in place.

I made mounting brackets, drilled the holes and painted it.

Next I had to cut the shell to fit the intercooler in and drill holes to mount it.

Mounted.

It's not anything spectacular but it will do and I am learning the basics of shaping and working with styrene.
More to come....!
