Right, just had a look at a listing for that one & it is supposed to come with a power supply(the type that's a wall brick, with a cord leading to the charger, & the brick has a little fan in it, too, it's a 7 amp supply). If yours didn't come with it, then you need to contact whoever you bought it from....

A car or lawn tractor battery will work since you did not get the AC power supply. lawn tractor battery is cheap and you will get weeks out of it before a recharge if you a 12 volt battery charger.
You can call DuraTrax for the part # of the AC power supply.

the deluxe and the mini are sold with or without the ac power supply. You can get those used ps for $20 or a pc ps for nearly free to run it off of ac power.

Keep an eye on the scratch and dent section on Tower. They sometimes have the Duratrax power supplies.

I was also wandering, becasue my dad currently have Real Car charger.. I was thinking that that might be able to power it. But the instructions say not to use that I think.. But soe anyone know if it is safe to use?

I don't think it's a good idea, as those lead-acid battery chargers are a bit unsteady, the current is unregulated, so you can get voltage spikes that can easily make your charger false peak(not to mention risk damaging the charger). I'd reccomend not cutting any corners on this one....

you could use the auto battery charger IF it's hooked up to a car battery... but that's a lot of hassle. If you're handy you can use a PC power supply with a little tinkering, and you can probably find one for next to nothing if not free.

Right, I forgot to mention that the big car battery can be used as a means to regulate the voltage output, & the car charger can keep the battery from draining too much(but as was said, it's something of a hassle to lug both around all the time).....

That's how I charged my 1200s back in the 80s at outdoor tracks without electric hook ups. :)

Well I dont race so.. there wouldnt be any hassle, its just that cause my dad had to replace the car batterie just recently (in the last week) so I dont realy want to use it becasue somehow I might foule the car batterie.. I'am planning on makeing another order from towers, when I do I'll just get the pwer converter.

well if your intrested, or if you still need the help i have in the last week converted a pc power supply to work as one hell of a sweet power supply for my Ripmax constelation charger!
Its a fairly simple mod and cost about $5.00 plus the cost of the actual PSU (most PC shops will let you take one off their hands anywhay).
It works flawlessly and id advise anyone to try it...
if anyones intrested gimi a shout i can either walk you through it or direct you to a few websites that show you how to do it!
