Hello

Sorry for this eventually stupid question, I'm new to brushless and didn't find a solution by the search. I'm finishing a brushless E-Maxx with a Feigao/Nemesis 9L (5 mm shaft). Where can I get pinion gears (32 pitch) with 15 teeth? And with some more or less teeth?

Is the small screw enough for tightening the pinion gear on the shaft? The shaft has no flat part for the small screw. Or do you have other possibilities for the fixation of the pinion gears?

Thanks for your advice. Greetings from Switzerland

Personally I filed a flat spot onto my motors, so the pinion bites better. With bigger pinions, its also easy to tap the other side, and use two set screws to hold it on, I did this to my mod-1 pinions.

You should be able to find a pinion that meets your requirements on www.rc-monster.com or www.starluckrc.com. If you get really stuck send me a PM, I have a spare 15t 32P 5mm shaft pinion I brought for my 540C-9L but never used.

Hello
Did anyone try to turn down the brushless rotor for use with "normal" pinion gears?

Down to what? An 1/8"? Wouldn't recommend it.

I also gound flats on motor shaft to lock the set screw in better.

yeah, the 5mm shaft is there because you would probably break a 1/8 one...............
