I am scratch building a cigarette boat. I am drawing up the plans in drafting class on the computer and would like to know where the motor should be placed. the motor weighs about 5 pounds. I want this to be a speed boat. I am using a small homelite weed eater for the motor. I am not sure of the cc's.as of now the plans are 42" but I am still drawing them and can be changed easily. thanks for the help

given the motor weight it should prolly be placed fairly close to your projected cg(about 30% of the boats length, measured from the transom) w/o knowing the hull weight(cg) I can only guess that the motor will end up somewhat aft of the cg. hth
