I used to own a Hacker C50 motor in an emaxx and it was pretty cool... I sold my emaxx a while ago and Im ready to buy a new one and go brushless. My question is, has anyone owned the C50 and HV 4.5? The novak is cheap compared to what I payed for that Hacker combo  so Im just wondering how they compared in performance?

And does CC offer a maxx combo that is NUTS? Ill go check them out right now

well, castle creations says it wont be out for a while... so I may just wait and see what happens... although the novak sounds nice from what I have been reading. It should be ok as long as it is geared properly?

any word on how the 4.5 HV compares to the C50?

i don't have an honest answer for you unfortunatley but I am sure the c50 is way more powerful but the new novak cold be good...try it

I don't think so, but I don't think anyone has tested both. So far, I haven't heard anything but good news about the HV 4.5.

I have no experience with either (got the HV4400 though...but it's in a Rustler...so no good comparison). Anyways, with that said, I think the HV4.5 may be on par with the C50 (I believe the C50 is a 380L/XL rotored motor as well?). The HV4.5 has a sintered rotor (more torque over previous HV motors, yay!) and low turns (higher kv over previous HV motors, yay!). I think, if anything, the weakest link will be the HV ESC combined with the HV4.5.

I answered nothing you asked, I know. Sorry....heh. :o

The C50 Maxx is a modified B50 12s... so it's a 540 size motor. I have run them in my emaxx but I've never had the HV...

I would guess they are similar actually

Thanks... Which one is the 380 rotored motor that Hacker sold for the Emaxx? I coulda swore they had something like that...

itll be atleast a week (if not two) before I can order the HV4.5 and even then I only have some maxxamps 3000mah batteries to test it on... I want to go lipo but I dont have a charger for them

I run my HV4400 (debating on whether or not to get the HV4.5 motor) on some GP3300s from radio shack. Works fine so far (of course....I run my setup in a much lighter vehicle compared to a maxx).

Could it be a C40 L or XL motor that you're think of?

the sooner I sell this evx, titans, and the proline spinners (wheels, spinners, 40 series road rage tires), the sooner I can order the 4.5 ;)

EDIT: check forsale forum

EDIT: ebay now

It turns out I have enough to buy the novak system, but should I go with that or wait for the mamba system? Im not completely sure of the differences between the two, so any help is appreciated :)

will the maxxamps 7.4v 4000 lipoly be a good choice for an emaxx brushless system? the discharge rate is 60amps continuous and 80amp 10 second bursts... I dont know what the HV draws amp wise?

The Monster Max is not going to be ready for a while... not even to beta yet.

But when it's available you will want one for sure. So buy the Novak now and ebay it when the Monster gets here. ;)

RCZ and r-c-p-i-c-s.net don't quite agree with each other...:D

Youtube.com seems to be the way to go for video these days.

(Is anyone else digging these new smileys? I can't help but use at least one new one each post I've made.)

You can also use Google Video:
http://video.google.com/
It does take about a day for videos to be processed after you upload them, but IMO it's MUCH better than Youtube.

It helps when you cycle your batteries after a long period of not being used :D.... its ALOT quicker now, and top speed is fast enough for me. I would have to guess its goin atleast 35+ (13t pinion) and it has enough power to land you on your lid if your not careful, the brakes are absolutely nuts! The only thing I can really say is, tmy C50 had a little more torque in it. From a dead stop, I think it pulled a little harder, which is usesless if you dont have an extended chassis anyway, lol.

I like it alot and I think it will be "that" much quicker on LiPo batteries, but I think I might go towards a pnatenburg or something later on.... or the CC monster maxx.
