i wouldnt buy a 540 feigoa for a truck i have one its not that great and would be hard work for any controller in comparison to 380c sized motor.
One of those mamba max systems would be ideal for a stadium truck in my opinon.
too expensive!!
Its the best value ESC on the planet using anything cheaper will always work out as a false economy.

Very true. The Mamba Max is just about the cheapest 1/10 brushless ESC out there, and it's definitely one of the best if not the best (especially for its price!).

Maybe THIS is the cheapest (seen from the european prices here for the Mamba Max wich will be roughly 200 Euro (!!) for the esc alone). This set of a Motor and a esc will go for a street price of around 180 Euro here in germany, my first impressions (i do test the esc and motor for a magazine) of the set are:
-big, but very powerful esc (cooler integrated)
-very good software, no cogging
-3 easy to use setups, no computer connection needed, runs even on my LRK Cars (!)
-little bit heavy weighting motor (220 gramm is too much in my eyes for a 1:10 scale use (roughly 160 gramm will be ok !)
Try to look a bit around, when youīll use www.conrad.com, thereīs an english page available too. then let it search for part number: 228302.
Note: I ditched the Link out, it is a "failure" in the forum Software, but the given Datas above will be OK and youīll find the esc too.

1. what the hell resolution screen you using when posting as the width of your post is rediculous.
2. you dont need a computer conection to configure the mamba max as it can be adjusted independantly just as much as most other controllers.
3. Anyone on this forum (Ie Geeks) will likely consider having to use a nice gui to configure your controller with a high level of acuracy not a flaw in design.

That phenomenon has nothing to do with screen resolution.
It is a forum problem. he posted a long line of characters without spaces or line breaks and the forum is not configured to handle those situations. It :)

The computer connection isnīt needed at many escīs but the programming with a software connection on a bigger screen with a well done GUI is way better of course.
Donīt get me wrong, the Mamba Max is an absolute winner, but the price to power is better for us here in Europe (especially Germany, as the escīs are from here too) with the above posted Carson esc/motor combo.
There is simply no need to configure the esc to any other settings than those 3 offered. The esc is able to handle all 2 pole motors out there AND could handle a LRK Motor too (=Outrunner).
And another benefit of the larger design is the better "stay-cool-during-long-mains" thing, the esc is pretty cool even after 45 Minutes of running at high speeds. OK when you like it there could be more speed, but even on a large track (300 Meter or more in lenght) it isnīt very much better to have a slightly faster car. But the esc might be too hot then (wich also depends greatly on motor, gearing a.s.o.)
Only thing to say: some RC users are NOT using any Windows Plattform, i know many who use Liniux or Mac OS, they cannot use (in most cases) the PC connection, as it is simply not offered, this esc combo (esc is available alone too) is suited for all these people and the ones who simply do not want to care about (comlicated or not) any setups that much.
To be honest, i am one of the guys who love it to play with setups as most as i could, but in some cases i am a little lazy too, and for bashing it is pretty cool NOT to have anything setup. ;-)
We will see more systems in the future (i know we will . . . ;-) ) and for now there have been complex systems (only in setup possibilitys, nothing more, like the mamba, gm racing, schulze, BK and s&T for exs.) and not that much complex ones like from LRP, Nosram, Mtroniks, Carson, Omega, Novak a.s.o.) wich is a way cool thing as this leaves enough room for everyone to choose what suites the situation best

Mtroniks Sport Plus/Feigao 380C-8T combo is pretty cheap if money is really tight.
