spektrum dx3

do i HAVE TO HAVE spektrum receivers or can i use the regular hitec receivers that i have

whats the difference between the dx2 and the dx3 cuz my hobby shop has the dx2 fairly cheap but i wanna make sure im getting the right thing....

is the dx2 3 channel??? let me know as im new to spektrum thanks
