Ace Sim RC of Medford Oregon proudly presents the Carbon Traveler Convertible. (CTC for short)
This unique ripstop fabric covered carbon fiber frame biplane allows rapid 3D aerobatic training without the hassle of endless repairs or rebuilding. All joints are plug-in flex-mount fittings that stress relief the frame from even the most severe impacts.
This method of construction makes the CTC nearly indestructible and allows it to be fully portable with flat-pack tear down taking just a couple minutes without tools.
2:1 power to weight ratio performance is easily achieved with this ultra-light 3D flier using off-the-shelf CD Rom brushless gear. The extremely slow flight speeds gives you time to learn maneuvers as well as operate in very small areas.
Great for indoor and calm outdoor flying plus the lower wings can be removed in seconds to double the wing loading for breezier sport flying as well.
Unique "wingeron" roll control move all four wings together for extremely responsive control even at the slowest speeds.
Specs are: 26 inch span, 28 inch length, 2.6 sq ft wing area, 7-8 oz AUW (2.7 to 3 oz/sq ft wing loading as biplane). Empty weight without gear is only 3 oz!
Requires 4 channel radio preferably with dual rates and exponential capabilities.
Kits come with all panels pre-constructed. The included 1/2-ounce coated poly ripstop covering is easily applied with contact cement and fittings are added by lashing them to the frames.
All 50 feet of rod and all fittings are pre-cut to length. The on-line 86-page construction manual includes 130 color pictures and diagrams covering every step in the building process.
There are nearly 200 pre-made parts in the kit plus all needed hardware. Designed and hand crafted in the USA by experienced pilots, the introductory price is $149.95.
Recommended for intermediate builders and pilots, assembly time is about 15 hours.
