what tires work for mod truck, buggy, 4 wheel and gas truck?

I race at checkerboard alot. Om my lst2 I am running bowties on it and my str also has them as well. they work well for me. However I would like to try prolines new holeshot tires with the smaller nubs. I think you could even do better with them.

Here is a link go into products then monster truck then tires.

Can anyone tell what the pit conditions are?
Is there power available?
Are there pit tables available?

Thanks

pleaseletmeon34
11-08-2006, 08:54 AM
I sure can

Power is limited. I can't remember any problems but???....A few guys bring small generators (nothing big and loud), or plan on charging off your 1/1 car.

No pit tables, you'll have to supply your own.

Well, its almost that time......EVERYBODY READY??? Anyone want/need transponders?

Where is Checkerboard?? I tried to look for it last year and could not find the place. Could you give a better location or an address?

Are the turkey races like the marathon that was run at Blue Diamond?

The track is real easy to get to. It's about 25 miles west of AC on rt 30. Then about 2 blocks off 30. (its also about 6 miles east of Hammonton)

Checkerboard Raceway
Elm St.
Elwood, NJ 08217

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=elwood,+nj&ll=39.578173,-74.715271&spn=0.003688,0.011469&t=h&om=1

You can see the track at the top of the picture. If you have dial-up, wait and let the picture load. It turns into an aerial picture of the track.

It's the last race before you go indoors for the winter.. With prizes for the bigger classes being a TuRkEy (yes a real turkey). Its run like a regular race day. In the past we wanted to run extended mains, but with all the people we always run out of daylight.

This year we are trying something different. By splitting up the classes over two weekend we hope to get in those exteeeeended mains.

You know what a Ray race is like. ;) You know how we do.

Sorry for the late cancellation post, but the weather said "this race aint gonna happen". I just got back from the track... good to see some friendly and new faces. We are going to try to run this race in two weeks, Nov. 26. They'll just be Christmas Turkeys. So you have two more weeks to get your sTuFf rEadY.

 Stay tunned....Turkey Race part 2 is next Sunday.

Hi All, I am trying to mapquest it but Elm Street does not show up.
Just wondering if elm st is off of weymouth road or south white horse pike according to the google map? Also is 1/8th still up for this weekend 11/19/06?

Hi dakidd,

For some reason MapQuest has never worked. Elm st. runs parallel with Weymouth (or Elwood road as it becomes on the north side of the pike). The track is on the north side of the pike (US30). If you must use MapQuest, use Weymouth as your destination, at that point you are one block from Elm.

If you are looking for markers, there is a traffic light on the corner of Rt30 and Weymouth. Also the Elwood deli/gas station is on the same intersection. You can ask in there if you are lost (they deliver food to us)

Elwood Deli
4531 White Horse Pike (US30)
Elwood, NJ 08217

If you need more assistance, just ask. (we had two people show up this weekend that claimed to be looking for the track for years) They could never find it using MapQuest. :p :(

The weather has been VERY hard on us this year. So if it cooperates, YES we will be running 1/8th scale, Monster Truck, and Truggies this weekend.

So get um ready....Its almost race time!

Edit: Guys/Gals, In the link that both RSKT8KR and I posted, you can see both the track and the Elwood deli.

To be honest, I havent ran on this track since 95. It was beach sand back then lol. I just run run races now. I'll see if I can get some of the locals to post tires. I know mlehrbaum races there (good guy).

Parts...I don't know? A few times a "hobby shop on wheels" has shown up. No guaranties though. Bring your normal spares, there will be a lot of helpfull people...you should be all right.

Sounds like NY will be there to RePreseNt!! :teacher:

Holeshots or bow ties would be good. If you're running buggy Pro Line Crime Fighters or Panther Komodo 2's are popular here. Hope this helps.

Hey Artie,

Power is limited but some peeps bring generators. (I'm sure there will be some sharing). Bring things charged up or use your 1/1 car. Pit space should not be a problem.

How would you be coming down?? or how would you go to Atlantic City? The Parkway?? I think the Parkway is about 15 miles from Elm St..

From the west (I don't think you would be coming this way but for a land mark) From Hammonton, intersection of rt30, 206 (north side),and 54 (south side). Elm St. is about 7 miles.

t4ftracer
11-17-2006, 09:33 PM
Artie, definately the parkway..... take exit 44. Turn right at end of exit. This is Rt. 575. Follow to intersection of Rt. 30 and turn right (there is a traffic light here). You'll be on Rt. 30 for awhile, (approx. 15-20 minutes) I think it's around mile marker 31 or 34 (not sure which) where you'll be turning right onto Elm st. (You will see the Elwood Deli on the opposite side of Rt. 30) Track is about 1/4 mile or less up on your right. You can't miss it. It is in a residential type area, but the track is out near the road. Good luck.

Two rounds of qualifying and hopefully some extended mains....everything will depend on how efficient everyone is, and the amount of sunlight left....

If anyone needs last minute directions, you can call Ray Murray's cell at 856.889.3647

OK, To all coming to the tUrKey RacE Part I

Sorry I didn't have this info before.....I just wasn't positive.

This info is for people coming from the north, using the Garden State Parkway.

You want to get off at ex44 and make a right on Pomona rd (575). As soon as you do that you will make another right on to Moss Mill rd (561). You will be on this for 7-10 miles??, from there you will make a left on Elwood/Weymouth rd (623), then right on Anderson ave, then right on Elm st. Then its only a few hundred ft. on the right.

pleaseletmeon34
11-24-2006, 12:10 PM
OK you electric guys....Its your turn to rule the BoARd (well, you and 1/10 gas truck). I know there is a lot of trucks/buggies/rally's around, lets see how many there really are!

If anyone is interested there will be a morning work party tomorrow. We had a lot of rain yesterday and the track could use some help. I'll be there about 7-8ish. Party will end around 11-12ish sharp. The gates will be locked after that!

There will be NO running on the track tomorrow

OK,
We got allll the water up, a little sun and wind should dry things up nicely.
Track is in better shape now then when I got there last Sunday. Lot of moisture in the ground...should be "tacky" all day. Beginning of the front stretch is a little bumpy, just past the gate (just like last week). We have a little patching up to do but it will be a great day for :driving: :driving: :driving: :driving: !! :winner:

I tried this out today to make sure it was OK. Smooooth sailing!

This info is for people coming from the north, using the Garden State Parkway.

You want to get off at exit 44 and make a right on (575) Pomona rd. As soon as you do that you will make another right on to (561) Moss Mill rd. You will be on this for 11.6 miles. You will go through one stop sign and at the second traffic light, you will make a left on (623) Elwood Rd./Weymouth Rd. 4/10th's mile, (just past school on your right) then right on Anderson ave, 1/10th mile, then right on Elm st. Then its only a few hundred ft. on the right.
