I know that you have the thread in the other vehicle thread, but is it possible to have one just for large scale cars/trucks?

I take it I am the only one that would like to see a large scale forum?

well if there was a large scale forum then the mini guys would be complaining that they don't have one and so on and so forth and it would just get to clustered and what not. The way it is now is more simple. JMO though.

The thing about large scale is its not a very large group.I got out of running 1/4 scale in the mid 90's.While very fun its also very expensive the fact its so expensive limits the people you can race with it.Price alone killed 1/4 scale racing here.Theres 1/4 scale racing here again now but I wont get involved again.Large scale can be a very lonely side of RC:)

As far as large scale, it would fall under "Misc Scale" sub-forum. As for the Mini guys, they can just post in the super-thread under "Elec On-Road"
Problem solved (for now, at least) :p

I know that large scale costs more to get into than nitro. I have more into my MGT than my Baja costs. Granted, I bought the things for my MGT over time. My buddy had a 1/5 scale for about a year before I did. he kept telling me, once you go gas, you won't go back to nitro. he was about 95% right. I still have two nitros, but I do not run them hardly at all. I have not run them since I bought the Baja. It is so nice not to worry about tuning or over heating any more. I can run for about 45 minutes on one tank of fuel too.

I dont disagree with anything you said broncobill. If I was going to run any kind of fuel powered Rc it would be gas for sure.I have 2 brand new & 1 used zenoah G230RC engines thats been sitting around for quite a while. In my case I guess its different I dont drive any of my Rc's just to be driving them.If I'm not at the track racing I'm not driving them.I dont even normally run practice before races,I just run the heats & the main then go home.Racing being my only interest 1/10 fits my needs better because theres lots of 1/10 scale drivers. If a large scale track opened within an hour drive of me & had racers showing up I would not hesitate getting a buggy and jumping right in.I dont mind spending the money....its getting other people to not mind thats the tough part.
I would like to see a large scale forum. Granted they are a little more expensive, but there are some pay-offs for the price, like run time and tuning. Two of the BIGGEST issues with Nitro. I cant even imagine running a car for 30-40 minutes, thats just insane.
I'm actaually thinking of selling a couple of my cars to get a 1/5 or 1/6 scale car so I can join the BIG BOYS :).

1/4 scale is actually cheaper to race IMO in the long run. Tires last longer , fuel is much cheaper and they are built like tanks! Start up cost is a lot steeper of course but over even one racing season , it is pretty comparable to 1/8 GTP for instance.
They also feel more realistic to drive in a way , not as ballistic , but real meaty in and out of corners. :D And they sound better too. But yeah , needs a decent sized track.
