I have read about people boiling them and baking them.I have never done either method.I use the just buy new rims method.

cut the tire off the rim with a razor knife, then put the rim in a container and fill with acetone and cover.

takes about 8 to 12 hrs.

this will remove the rubber & glue that's in the bead area.

I preheat the oven to 350, turn it off, and put them in on a cookie sheet and leave them in till the oven cools. They come right off. Unless the rims are cheap plastic it doesn't hurt them either.

I've used all three methods described and they do work. I have even reused tires on new rims. The best way is the acetone then boiling them and a close third is the oven.
