I wanted to get a gas powered buggy and i was looking at the OFNA 9.5 Violater .26 RTR or the OFNA Ravager RTR with a .28 engine. I would like to know people who owned either of these buggies or other OFNA buggies to tell me how their experience was and if there are any reccomendations somebody could give me i would really appreciate it.

my buddy has the ravager... its fast due to the .28 engine, but its not that strong, he broke a lot of suspension components quickly, so if you are gonna go for an ofna, i'd recommened one of the better ones like the hyper series

an if you go rtr imo avoid the .28's, if you ever think about doing racing they wont allow that engine size, well maybe if you are not too fast at your club, but in any other case you need a .21

Go for a hyper 7, much more part support than most OFNA stuff like the ravager and the engine is pretty good for an rtr. Just because the ravager's engine is a .28 doesn't mean that it is any more powerful than a .21. The build quality of the engine is what really matters, the engine size is just a number. Most of the time a racing .21 engine will outpower an RTR's .26 engine.

I think the Hyper 7 is the way to go. I should have better part support, as tmacfan4321 said, but overall it is a better platform. The engine there will be perfect to begin with, and most any quality .21 you upgrade to will blow the doors off the .26 or .28 equipped with an Ofna RTR.

Or, you could try something even newer...the Hyper 8 RTR, the Jammin RTR...heck, Losi even has the 8 RTR coming soon, if not out already. Personally, if I was to choose an RTR buggy it would be between these three.
Hyper8 - http://ofna.com/hyper8rtr.html
Jammin - http://www.ofna.com/teamjammin/kits-x1rtr.html
Losi8 - http://www.teamlosi.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0081
I don't know how much these will run...but I think the Losi would be my choice. I have a Muggy, which has the same engine and it has plenty of power in a truggy...I'd imagine it'll be even better in a buggy. Also, the benefit of the Spektrum radio ( I personally don't like Spektrum, as I have a Nomadio Sensor....but...as for RTR buggies go ) and not having to worry about frequency issues or interference/glitching is huge. Good luck however you choose.

I will probably go with the Ofna 9.5 violater becuase i do not race and do not plan on racing. I will jus use it for bashing around. and i do not want to spend more then $400.00. And also how can you tell when the engine is flooded on that volater since it has a electric start.
