[SIZE="3"]I recently purchased and assem. my Illusion to the directions I received. On the first attempts it Nose dived in HARD on launch, I evaluated and moved the CG back from 3.25" to 3.75" and I got better results. This already puts me out of the range specified, and I feel I need to go further back.
[SIZE="3"]Are the directions bad??? I have never had a swept wing airplane or a EDF. But I have been flying fuel for 7 years.
It never accelerates when I try to keep it level and it stalls when I raise the nose up a few degrees, and quickly noses over.
Should I be changing the angle of attack????

When I flew the text model, I checked the CG location using my CAD program. The MAC of the wing is 4.901" from the root chord. It is 5.73" long. The 25% MAC is 3.222" at the root and the 33% MAC 3.699" For ease of setting up the CG range you should measure at between 3.25 and 3.5" measured up against the wing fairing.
There was no problem with thrust using the stock engine supplied with the kit. Be sure your battery is properly and fully charged.
Hope this helps!

Well - did my maiden flight today and it didn't go so well.....

Tried launching it several times and it just wouldn't get up to speed. Finally crashed harder than I would have liked and cracked the fuse in the front. Repairable, but disconcerning.

Here is my problem, with results on the wattmeter. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong?

As I move the throttle up, it peaks at about 70% throttle, and then I can hear an rpm decline up to 100%. I put it on the wattmeter, and here were the results:

60% Throttle:

6.27amps
71.2watts
11.37volts
------------

70% Throttle

6.79amps
76.2watts
11.17volts
------------

90% throttle

6.03amps
70.3watts
11.65volts
-----------

100% throttle

5.14amps
60.6watts
11.8volts
-------------

So my two questions are...

1. What is causing the drop in power at full throttle? I tried a different ESC and different battery, so I can only assume that there is something wrong with the motor or connection between the motor and ESC.

2. What amps & watts is everyone else pulling? Even at the highest power range, at 70% throttle, it is only pulling 6.79 amps and 76.2 watts. This seems kind of low to me, and I recall someone earlier in this thread saying that they were pulling about 11amps and 100 watts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, since this is really bumming me out.

Thanks in advance!!!
