Tranny Help

Hey guys this is my first post but i have been into RC for 2 years now. I have the HPI Savage 25 with an STS .28 being broken in and a 3 Speed with reverse. The problem i am having is when you want to start it the tranny is already in gear. If you hold the spur gear and roll it foward it's fine but when you roll it backwards the tires lock up. I need to get this fixed ASAP. Cheers

sounds like a problem with your clutch springs/shoes. ive had this happen before when the shoes are completely worn.

did u bye new springs and shoes before u thew it together (they might be on backwords) take the clutch bell off clean it and take some sandpaper to the inside of the bell also strach the shoes up a little bwt welcome to the fourms. keep us posted on the problem later

Maybe a bad clutch bell bearing too. Try spinning the spur gear with your finger. It should spin freely one direction and try to turn the wheels in the other. You will love that STS 28 I have one on mine and it is a powerhouse. Effortless wheelies with 18/47 gears and a 2 speed.

Well I got that all fixed but I think the bearings are bad in the STS .28. It has a high pitched whining sound and temps @ plug were 260 and OVER 350 at crankcase. RYAN from racernine is sending me some new ones.
