AXIAL .28!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got mine for $125usd at towerhobbies and this engine ROCKS for the money, it started the 2nd pull when i first went to break it in, and it has great power, alot of low end grunt, plus, it seems like its pretty fuel efficient, i can get about 15+ minutes per tank

nah, id still get the axial, the dang bearing on the .32 dont last long, and the axial is good, almost to good for its price, i mean like, why would someone buy a force engine instead of a axial .28?

From what I have seen the LRP's and Surefire's make good power but are hit or miss on reliability. Go with the Axial, my .32 has over 6 gallons on it and still running strong. I have seen a ton of the Axial motors go that far without any problems. Bottom line, you get what you pay for.

what kind of starting equipment is included and how often do you need to replace the owb

The Axials come with a pull start, but the HPI K4.6 roto-start backplate also fits. I have never had to replace my owb, and I have 6 gallons at least thru mine. Proper maintenance pays dividends :D !

well my axial .28 is a gerat engine, it seems really strong and starts up really easily, more power than the k4.6

Great power. Wull pull wheelies thru 3rd gear and I have a 47t spur and a 19t clutch bell.

The axial .28 makes as much torque as the Axial .32/Surefire .32 sooner in the powerband and revs higher... Note this the X dyno, do not be fooled by low numbers

Not when new. You may need to heat up the block with a heat gun. I have seen both the Axial .28 and .32 run and both are great engines. The .32 has noticably more power but they seem to rev about the same(I know what it says on paper but they react pretty much the same at high rpm). For $150 you can't beat the .28, just don't try to outrun a .32 with one in a monster truck. Just my opinion and experience.

Lrp,axials, xtm, and machs are all sh based engines, just rebadged. Some have different port work, but are all sh based though. I have the spec 2 and 3, both are good engines, The surefires I have seen have all had bearing issues, most due to the main bearing not seated all the way in the block. I have had the axial 28, and os 30(not impressed at all). The axials are good motrs too, but the spec 2 seemed to be more peppy. The spec 3 has a real good mid-top end range, with decent bottom too. Most of the issues with these engines are overreved/stressed. They are big blocks and aren't really intendeed for long periods of high revs. I had my spec 3 modded from dadders, its awesome. I have about 5 gallons on it now, still going strong. rcca did the dyno on the spec 2, and stated it had more torque than any engine they tested, regardless of displacement. 32 power in a 28 engine.
